Tax Relief for Victims of Hurricane Ian in Florida

The IRS has provided tax relief for victims of Hurricane Ian throughout Florida. The relief is provided to individuals and households that reside or have a business anywhere in the state of Florida. Affected individuals and businesses now have until 2/15/23 to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during the relief period. This includes all returns normally due on or after 9/23/22 and before 2/15/23 including (1) quarterly estimated income tax payments; (2) quarterly payroll and excise tax returns; and (3) individual and business returns with valid extensions. In addition, penalties on payroll and excise tax deposits due on or after 9/23/22 and before 10/10/22 will be abated, as long as the deposits are made by 10/10/22.
